What is well planted cannot be uprooted.
What is held firmly cannot fall away,
Thus the sacrifices of peers will be preserved unceasingly.
Use the Tao within yourself
And Virtue will be without dross.
Use the Tao within the family
And Virtue will abound.
Use the Tao within the community
And Virtue will multiply.
Use the Tao within the country
And Virtue will be abundant.
Use the Tao within the world
And Virtue will be universal.
Thus look at the person as a person,
The family as a family,
The community as a community,
The country as a country,
The world as a world.
How do I know the world?
In this way.
